Disney XII

We had lunch at Le Cellier in Canada. We used to have our Epcot sit-down lunch in Italy but the restaurant that we ate at closed. A new restaurant did open but it was very expensive and the food didn’t look good. Le Cellier wasn’t spectacular, so I guess it’s back to the drawing board. It wasn’t that the food was bad; it was just that there wasn’t a great variety.

After lunch, it was more attractions. I described the attractions in EPCOT in order but, obviously, we did not do them all before lunch. Next time we go, I’ll keep better track of what we do when. The group Off Kilter would perform sometimes, no relation to Mark and it was nice to hear the music. Indeed all the music was very good; for me, at least, it adds flavor to the experience.

That leaves Illuminations, the fireworks and laser nightly show at EPCOT. We get there roughly an hour before time to get a good spot. It’s relatively light out when we get our spot but then, the sky, as if on queue, begins to darken. At some point electric torches come on and the buildings around the lake, light up. When I see some lighted building I ask what it is and, by the end of the night, Mark is probably ready to toss me in the lake. Just before the show starts, the torches go out and the buildings darken. Then the music begins; the whole presentation is set to music. The music rises and the fireworks begin. Floating through the display is a giant globe on which you can see scenes from around the world. I can’t see the scenes but the fireworks are just fine.

When the show is over, we make our way to the exit to catch a bus back to Pop Century. When we got back, we got dinner from the food court, I admired the lit bowling pins and then we went up to the room.

Readhowyouwant, I don’t read Braille mostly because I have enough vision to read magnified print and I use mostly audiobooks now. I don’t use DAISY; I had never really heard about it until you mentioned it. It looks interesting and I will check further into it.
